Manipur sets for nationwide ‘Operation Abhayaas’

• IMPHAL — Manipur is all set for the nationwide civil defence exercise and rehearsal ‘Mock drill –Operation Abhyaas’ on Wednesday.

• The step has been taken up after the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday directed all states and union territories to conduct the drills to test and strengthen the country’s preparedness for emergencies across more than 259 locations including Imphal, Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Moreh and Ningthoukhong in Manipur.

• According to information from Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), the Directorate of civil defence Manipur would conduct the civil defence exercise and rehearsal on May 7 around Johnstone School, BT Park, State Museum and Fire Servi9ce building.

• “A predrill briefing will be held at 3 pm at Johnstone school followed by the actual mock drill at 4 pm (on Wednesday),” the assistant publicity officer of DIPR Manipur said in a notification on Tuesday.
