- IMPHAL — Manipur
Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, on Wednesday visited Chandel, a border district in
the state, and reviewed overall law and order and administrative developments
in the district.
- The governor also inaugurated the district library and
information technology centre at the district headquarters, located about 70 km
south of Imphal during the visit.
- Later, the governor chaired a review meeting at the
conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office, where he comprehensively
reviewed various developmental initiatives including centrally sponsored
schemes taken up in the district.

- The deputy commissioner of Chandel, L Nandakumar Singh,
along with other district level officers (DLO) gave a detailed presentation on
various developmental programmes that are being taken up for the welfare of the
people in the district.
- The district superintendent of police, Chandel Babitarani
Swain, also highlighted the various security measures, which are put in place
to maintain law and order and other security related issues in the district.
- After listening to the presentations, the governor directed
the officials to ensure maximum benefits to the people. He also interacted with
civil society organisations and heard their grievances.
