
Representatives of the Manipur Olympic Association with
Manipur Governor on Thursday.
- IMPHAL — Manipur
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has directed the state authority to upgrade the
existing sports facilities at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal to ensure
timely completion for the upcoming 39th National Games, scheduled to be held in
2027. Meghalaya will be hosting the sporting mega event.

- The Governor instructed the Secretary of Youth Affairs and
Sports, N Praveen Singh, to upgrade the velodrome and fencing court at Khuman
Lampak Sports Complex, as requested by the Manipur Olympic Association, to
prepare for the 39th National Games in 2027.
- “This is on the
request of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, who will be hosting the
39th National Games,” stated Raj Bhavan, Imphal, in a press release on Thursday.

- In another unrelated development, the state Governor Ajay
Kumar Bhalla chaired the meeting of ‘Governor-in-Council’ on Monday at the
conference hall of Raj Bhavan.
- The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary PK Singh along
with Commissioner (Home) N Ashok Kumar, Secretary to Governor Sumant Singh and
secretaries from various departments.
- Several proposals were discussed, mainly focusing on
development projects, administrative improvements, and steps to strengthen
overall governance. The discussions reflected the government’s efforts to
improve coordination and ensure better delivery of public services.
