Manipur expresses solidarity with soldiers on frontlines

  • IMPHAL — In a significant show of unity and national spirit, Manipur Governor, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, on Saturday chaired a solidarity meeting at the Conference Hall of Raj Bhavan in Imphal.

  • The meeting was convened to express collective support for the Indian armed forces amid ongoing conflict with Pakistan and to reaffirm the state’s unwavering solidarity with the brave soldiers serving on the frontlines.

  • Leaders from major political parties in Manipur including representatives from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Indian National Congress (INC), Janata Dal (United), National People’s Party (NPP), Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Republican Party of India (RPI) attended the meeting.

  • Speaking at the meeting, the governor emphasised the importance of unity across party lines during times of national challenge and appreciated the presence and cooperation of all political representatives in demonstrating a common voice in support of Indian Armed Forces.

  • The DGP of Manipur, Rajiv Singh; secretary to the governor, Sumant Singh; GOC of 57 Mountain Division, Major General SS Kartikeya; and other officers also attended the meeting.

  • Major General SS Kartikeya gave a brief presentation in which he gave insights to the overall view of the conflict, border scenario and the nature of India’s response.

  • Leaders of all political parties unanimously appreciated the Prime Minister for his tactful and visionary leadership in navigating the current situation.

  • On Friday, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee staged a Jai Hind Yatra in Imphal showing solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces engaged in the ongoing Operation Sindoor.
