Manipur COVID-19 cases rise to 145

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has climbed to 145 in Manipur on Thursday with 33 more samples tested positive.

IMPHAL — The total number of COVID-19 positive cases has climbed to 145 in Manipur on Thursday with 33 more samples tested positive.


The maximum numbers of cases are from Imphal West district (103) and Imphal East (29), while six cases are from Thoubal, four from Bishnupur, two from Tengnoupal and from Kakching.


According to the latest status update on COVID-19 of the integrated disease surveillance project of the state health department which was made available to media on Sunday, as many 469 persons were tested since June 1 this year.

Currently, 122 patients are under home isolation after thirteen COVID-19 patients have been discharged.


The state government urged public to remain calm and continue observing COVID-appropriate behaviour. These measures are precautionary and aimed at ensuring preparedness and safety.


Manipur's first COVID-19 case of the current wave reported on June 10 where a 23-year-old female student from Bishnupur's Ngaikhong Khullen village tested positive via TrueNat, with no travel history.


It may be mentioned that Manipur had reported its first COVID-19 case on March 24, 2020, while the first death case was reported on July 29 the same year.
