KOHIMA — An organised sex racket, believed to have been operating in Kohima for a considerable period of time, was reportedly busted by the police during a late-night operation on Monday.
A highly placed source told Eastern Mirror that the operation led to the arrest of several individuals, including both locals and non-locals, who were allegedly involved in the racket.
The source further revealed that an organised network of pimps and agents had been running the flesh trade in the capital city for a long time. More raids are reportedly underway to uncover the suspected wider network.
It was learnt that around 10–13 suspected persons, both male and female, were apprehended from different locations across Kohima during the operation, following movement detected by the cops on Monday night.
As of the time of filing this report, the police have not issued any official statement on the operation.
