- DIMAPUR — The
Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) hosted the third edition of the M Chuba
Meritorious Award at the Hotel Saramati conference hall in Dimapur on Monday to
honour outstanding academic excellence. This year, the recipient was Thurila K
Yimchunger.
- According to an update, the event was attended by Richard
Yimto, IPS, and retired Inspector General of Police, as the guest speaker.
- Speaking on the occasion, the guest speaker stressed the
importance of consistency in one's pursuit of success, noting that many
students fail to maintain their momentum after achieving initial success due to
inconsistency once they advance to higher education. He further emphasised the
role of parents, urging them to remain vigilant and act conscientiously in
accordance with their child's capabilities.
- Rithrong, personal secretary to the Minister of Housing and
Mechanical Engineering, Government of Nagaland, encouraged the students and the
awardee, emphasising that in this rapidly changing world, with significant
advancements in science, technology, and AI, many students are heavily reliant
on technology. He urged for its critical and mindful usage.
- Additionally, he spoke about the scarcity of government jobs
and the need to explore other available opportunities and avenues in the
contemporary world for sustainable livelihoods.
- The award consisted of a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, a
citation, and a memento. In her speech, Thurila shared her journey and
addressed the audience.
