DIMAPUR — The Lotha Catholic Khumshum, Kohima, organised a one-day retreat on July 20, led by Rev. Fr. Paul Inashe, Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, Parish Priest of Lazami, along with his team, and attended by around 102 participants.
According to an update, during the sessions, the animator emphasised the centrality of the Holy Eucharist in the life of Christian communities.
Referring to the upcoming golden jubilee celebrations, Fr. Paul urged the community to deepen their faith—not just at a superficial level but to “launch into the deep”, as Jesus instructed His disciples in Luke 5:4.
He highlighted that as the community prepared to celebrate 50 years, it was vital to examine its spiritual maturity. He reminded them that a community may reach fifty years chronologically, but its faith can still remain infantile if it does not grow in service, unity, and active involvement in the mission of the church.
Participants were also encouraged to reflect on the importance of the family, which must be safeguarded at all costs to bring about positive change in both societal and spiritual contexts.

During the Holy Mass, Fr. Paul delivered a homily, describing the family as a divine gift that must withstand the challenges of modern times through spiritual strength and renewal.
At the conclusion of the retreat, the newly elected Kohima Lotha Catholic Youth office bearers were blessed and appreciated while being reminded that leadership entails responsibility, service, and a readiness to work for the welfare of the community entrusted to them.
