The DC of Kohima has reopened the alternative Phesama-Kisama road for LMVs, while warning against night travel and use of NH-2 due to landslide risks.

DIMAPUR — Kohima district administration has announced the restoration of the alternative route between Phesama and Kisama/Kigwema for light motor vehicles (LMVs).
According to a DIPR update, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, B Henok Buchem, issued a traffic advisory on Monday informing that the route is now open for traffic with immediate effect.
“Meanwhile, additional advisory is issued in the interest of public safety: vehicular movement on National Highway-2 near Kisama (landslide-affected section) shall not be allowed; non-essential journeys may be avoided as far as possible; night journeys are not advisable; traffic shall be regulated in the event of further mudslides,” it stated.
