Losami Students’ Union conducts its 64th general session with leaders emphasising unity, quality education, and cultural values.

DIMAPUR — The Losami Students’ Union (LSU) held its 64th general session-cum-37th freshers’ social from December 18 to the 19th at GMS Losa Basa playground, Losami village in Phek district, on the theme “Alchemy: Leveraging the potentialities”.
Attending the inaugural session as inaugural guest, Director of Tourism Veyielo Doulo urged the students to learn to support each other instead of trying to pull down one another.
He called upon the students to embrace an environment of love for each other and avoid hatred for collective growth and peaceful coexistence.
Touching on the session theme, Doulo called upon the LSU to adopt a comprehensive strategy to thrive in a competitive world.
He told the students to struggle to reach the zenith point when they are energetic. Stating that parental investment in children's education is crucial for a productive society, he called upon parents to continue supporting their children in acquiring quality education.
Also attending the session as an honoured guest, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Mteisuding Heraang said, “If we have equality in education, we will have equality in society.”

He stated that quality education is fundamental for a progressive society and economic prosperity. He urged the village councils to take cognisance of the basic functioning of the school, especially the government schools.
During the introductory session, Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) president Vezuhü Keyho urged the students to avoid dependency and strive for excellence. Stressing the importance of culture, he said, “Our cultural heritage does not only include folk dance and folk song but covers all the moral values of our daily life.”
Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) President Zhonelü Tunyi urged the students to refrain from excessive use of mobile phones and prioritise their studies and personal growth.
Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) President Pfülo Sarah and Losami Village Council Chairman Zechete Mekrisuh shared greetings, while Bino Tenenu, president of Middle Khomi Students’ Union, extended a solidarity message. Wetsote K Swuro, sub-divisional agriculture officer, Meluri, attended the valedictory session.
The session was also marked by academic excellence awards and a cultural session.
