Longpa hosts Yajen Aier and AKTM awards ceremony

Achanger T Aier along with the officials of Asetkong Conference and AKTM and recipients of Yajen Aier Honourary and AKTM Excellency Awards in Longpa Village on Saturday.


  • LONGPA — The 6th edition of the Yajen Aier Honourary Award and AKTM Excellency Award ceremony was held at the Longpa village community hall on Saturday.

  • Jointly organised by the Asetkong Conference and Asetkong Students’ Conference (AKTM), the event honoured outstanding students from the Asetkong range for their exceptional performance in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).

  • This year, two students were conferred the prestigious Yajen Aier Honourary Award and AKTM Excellency Award. The awards were given to Bendangtila Longkumer from Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, for securing 9th position in HSSLC (Commerce) and Kimenjungla Aier from Little St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, for securing 12th position in HSLC examinations.

  • Each recipient received INR 20,000 along with citations. The Asetkong Students’ Excellency recipients received cash award of INR 10,000 each with certificates.

  • Additionally, Yajen Aier Honourary Awards were presented to top-performing students in Classes 8, 9 and 10 from Asetkong schools. The awards were given to Rongnen Jamir of Class X from Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur; Akumsunep Aier of Class IX from Government High School, Longjang and Aosanen of Class VIII from Clark Memorial Higher Secondary School, Impur.

  • Addressing the gathering, Achanger T Aier, SDO (Electrical) of Mokokchung, inspired students to pursue their academic goals with clarity and resilience.

  • “Being a topper is not enough,” he said adding that “A clear vision is what sustains you through challenges. He urged the students to let failure become a springboard to success.

  • Aier also urged students to set long-term goals, emphasising that vision acts as a guiding torch during obstacles in higher studies.

  • “A visionless topper may give up when hurdles arise, but with purpose, you can transform setbacks into motivation,” he added.

  • Asetkong Conference and Asetkong Students’ Conference officials informed that the awards were given to nurture academic excellence and foster a culture of perseverance among the youth of Asetkong community. Besides, it also aims to inspire students to strive for greatness while grounding them in values of determination and vision.
