
DIMAPUR — The district planning and development boards (DPDBs) of Longleng and Tuensang held their monthly meetings on Thursday, focusing on a range of development initiatives.
Longleng: The monthly Longleng DPDB meeting was held at the DPDB hall in Longleng under the chairmanship of MLA and DPDB chairman B Bangtick Phom.
On the occasion, the chairman urged all officers in Longleng district to remain available at their respective stations and perform their duties sincerely for the welfare of the people.
Proposals were approved while reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, including the implementation of CHC criteria at PHC Tamlu, the upgrade of the Sub-Centre Tangha to PHC, the upgrade of EAC Yongnyah to SDO, and the creation of an EAC post at Namching Compound.
Agendas for the construction of the District DB’s Court at Longleng and Tamlu have been approved. The verification committee for LADP 2024-2025 has been constituted and approved, and the constitution of the Nangmah Valley Industrial Estate/Zone Committee in Tamlu for wood-based industries under the Longleng Forest Division was also approved and forwarded to the concerned department.
DC Longleng, W Manpai Phom, requested the attendance of the members at the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the EAC headquarters in Shakshi on November 15.
The district sports officer (DSO) Longleng also requested the house to provide resources to support the affiliated sports associations in any state or district-level competitions and to assist the District Sports Council Longleng in promoting sports and upgrading sporting standards in the district.
Tuensang: The Tuensang DPDB meeting was held at the DC conference hall in Tuensang, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and DPDB vice chairman Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa.
After reviewing the minutes of the last meeting, the house discussed and proposed constituting a committee to organise the celebration of the 77th year of Tuensang district's establishment on January 28, 2025, stated a DIPR report.
The board also discussed the collection of e-waste from offices and wards to be sent to the collection centre at Dimapur, as proposed by Dr. Lanurenla, principal of Sao Chang College, Tuensang. Students from the college will take the initiative in collecting the waste.
The board also discussed the upcoming visit of Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan to Tuensang on November 26.
On the occasion, a PowerPoint presentation on departmental activities was delivered by the Horticulture department, where DHO Tuensang, Tiakaba Longchar, highlighted the shortage of a transformer at the high-tech polyhouse at Chendang village farm. The board recommended the matter for approval to the Power department.
