DIMAPUR — The Longleng Town Students’ Union (LTSU), in collaboration with the district administration and district Dobashis, conducted an inspection drive in Longleng town on September 15 to check for expired and substandard goods being sold in the market.
According to a DIPR report, the inspection team, comprising officials from the administration, Dobashis, and members of LTSU, visited several shops and business establishments across the town.
The drive was carried out as part of a joint effort to safeguard public health and ensure consumer safety. During the inspection, goods were checked for expiry dates, proper labelling, and storage standards.

LTSU officials stated that the union remains committed to protecting the interests of the public, particularly the student community and local residents. They emphasised that selling expired goods poses a serious health risk and urged all business establishments to exercise responsibility and maintain compliance with legal standards.
The district administration and Dobashis expressed appreciation to LTSU for its proactive steps in addressing such concerns and reaffirmed their support for continuing similar drives in the future.
The inspection team has cautioned defaulters against repeating such practices and assured the public that strict action will be taken in accordance with the law against those violating consumer safety norms.
