DIMAPUR — The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings were held in Kiphire and Tseminyu on September 17 and 18, respectively.

In Kiphire, the DPDB meeting-cum-orientation programme for the Adi Karama Yogi Abhiyan (AKA) was held at the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer.

According to a DIPR report, Temsuwati, on the occasion, spoke on the registration of the SHE-BOX Portal, fumigation for malaria and dengue prevention, and the implementation of PM Shakti in Kiphire.

He informed that the saturation of five key assets—schools, hospitals, Anganwadi centres, roads and water pipelines—has been mandated and urged all concerned departments to ensure these assets are accurately mapped and reflected on the Gati Shakti Portal on priority.

Departments were also told to highlight their status to the Management Information System (MIS) team for monitoring.

EAC Kiphire, Takatemjen Pongen, emphasised the importance of the orientation programme for Adi Karama Yogi Abhiyan, describing it as a mission-driven cadre for tribal affairs launched at the state level.

He highlighted that the initiative is a national movement to build decentralised tribal leadership and governance, spearheaded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

In his concluding remarks, Temsuwati urged the RD Department to take corrective measures to identify households without job cards in villages and emphasised the importance of maintaining proper records of MGNREGA beneficiaries at the village level.

He also underscored transparency and accountability in rural development programmes, and reminded members about the grand finale of Miss Kiphire scheduled for September 27 at GHSS Auditorium, Kiphire.

In Tseminyu, the monthly DPDB meeting was held in the DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Vice-Chairman and DC Tseminyu, Japheth Woch.

The meeting reviewed the previous minutes and approved the registration of the Tseminyu District Differently Abled Person Union (TDDAPU). The House discussed challenges in urban waste management and directed the Tseminyu Town Council to identify a proper disposal site. It was also informed that the district will host an RTI programme on October 10 at Tseminyu Town Hall.

The house further discussed the installation of CCTVs in all offices and approached the government for approval. It also unanimously agreed to declare Tseminyu district as a piggery district and decided that the administration, in coordination with district officers, would formulate an action plan to be presented at the next DPDB meeting.
