
B Bangtick Phom and A Pongshi Phom along with other
officials during inspection at the ongoing construction of District Hospital in
Longleng town on Saturday.
- DIMAPUR — Legislators
of Longleng district namely B Bangtick Phom and A Pongshi Phom inspected the
ongoing construction of District Hospital (DH) in Longleng town on Saturday.
- They were accompanied by the deputy commissioner (DC) of
Longleng, W Manpai Phom; Superintendent of Police; Chief Medical Officer,
Medical Superintendent, members of various civil society organisations (CSOs)
as well as the concerned contractor and engineers, stated an update from the
office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Longleng.

- During the inspection, both legislators have expressed
concern regarding the shortage of manpower and the apparent use of substandard
construction materials. They also pointed out the slow pace of work and urged
the contractor to take immediate steps to improve the quality and expedite the
work.
- Report stated that representatives from the civil society
organisations have expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of development
despite the project was sanctioned with a three-year completion timeline. It
was resolved that CSO representatives would conduct regular site inspections to
monitor the progress of work.
- Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner directed that the project
should be completed by March 2026. As the current work progress stands at 58
percent, he has instructed the concerned departments and engineering personnel
to submit monthly progress reports starting from June 2025.
