- DIMAPUR — The 2nd
coordination meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) for
Longleng for the 8th Economic Census (EC) was held on May 14 at the office of
the DC Longleng.
- The meeting was chaired by the DC and chairman of DLCC
Longleng, W Manpai Phom, according to a DIPR report.
- On the occasion the chairman stressed the role of various
departments, particularly DLCC members, in the effective execution of the 8th
EC. He also emphasised the role of teachers under the School Education
department for operational success, particularly in rural areas.

- The meeting deliberated on manpower rationalisation,
especially at the supervisor and enumerator levels, and the need to segregate
manpower requirements and block divisions according to administrative circles
for efficacy and convenience.
- The DESO and District Nodal Officer for the 8th Economic
Census, Nyushotho Nyuthe, highlighted the implementation framework of the 8th
EC during the meeting.
- Mention was made of the enumeration blocks (EB) identified
through the Local Governance Directory (LGD), which will contain approximately
150–180 households in rural areas; the allocation of geographical areas in urban
areas will be the Urban Frame Survey (UFS) blocks, consisting of 120–150
households.
