Longleng administration announces revised taxi fares and an alternate route due to ongoing road blockages.
DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Longleng has notified passengers and commuters travelling from Longleng to Kohima and Dimapur of temporary travel arrangements, including revised taxi fares, due to an ongoing road blockage and clearing operations along the standard route.
According to an update, commuters are advised to travel via the designated alternative route of Longleng to Tuensang to Chare to Mokokchung until further notice, while clearance and restoration work on the primary highway continues.
Due to the challenging terrain of the alternative route, passengers are requested to carry limited baggage, capped at 5 kg per passenger, and avoid overweight luggage to ensure vehicle stability.

Owing to the extended distance and extra travel time along the alternative route, a temporary upward adjustment in commercial taxi fares has been sanctioned. The revised fares are INR 1,600 for Longleng to Dimapur, INR 1,500 for Longleng to Kohima, and INR 600 for Longleng to Tuensang.
The notification added that normal transit routes to Kohima and Dimapur, along with the standard fare structure, will resume immediately once the main road is fully cleared and restored for safe vehicular movement.
All passenger vehicle operators and commuters have been requested to cooperate with local authorities and traffic personnel to ensure smooth and safe transit.
