Longkong Health and Wellness Centre in Mokokchung undergo external assessment for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.

DIMAPUR — The Longkong Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Mokokchung underwent an external assessment for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification on Saturday.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, stated that Matsungshila, community health officer (CHO) at HWC Longkong, welcomed the two-member team of external assessors namely Dr. Rajeev Kumar, district consultant quality assurance at Rohtas, Bihar, and K Dharani Devi, DPHNO at State Institute of Health and Family Welfare, Khanapara, Guwahati, along with Dr. Imlinoba Changkiri, DQM Dimapur, facilitator from DHFW Kohima, staff from HWC Longkong, chairman of village health committee, members from the community and staff from the CMO office led by Dr. TakosunepAo, deputy CMO of Mokokchung.

It stated the CHO painted a clear picture of HWC Longkong with a powerpoint presentation by highlighting its infrastructure, manpower, its functioning, achievements, visions and missions. She also made a special mention of the continual support provided by the community led by church and the chairman of Longkong village council, which made it possible for various infrastructural innovations in the health centre.
Dr. Rajeev Kumar and K Dharani mentioned that the day’s NQAS assessment was a great opportunity to learn and added that assessment should not be taken as scrutiny but an opportunity.
It mentioned that NQAS certification programme is the highest national quality certification for public health facilities, which was launched in the year 2013 to improve the quality in healthcare services. The certification is awarded against the fulfillment of the national quality assurance standard criteria accredited by International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), it added.
