DIMAPUR — Tangha Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) in Longleng district underwent external assessment for national certification under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) programme on Friday.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Longleng, stated that the assessment was conducted by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland.
The external assessment covered services such as care in pregnancy and childbirth, childhood and adolescent healthcare services, family planning, contraceptive services and other reproductive healthcare services, management of common communicable diseases and outpatient care for acute simple illness and minor ailments, management of communicable diseases including national health programmes, neonatal and infant healthcare services, screening, prevention, control and management of non-communicable diseases.

The assessment was carried out by K Dharani Devi and Dr. Manish Shekhar.
It stated that the initiative was aimed at ensuring health facilities adhere to the highest standards of service delivery, patient safety and accountability in line with the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).
It further stated that the outcome of the assessment would contribute significantly to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving public health services in Longleng district.
