Lions Club’s annual ‘Diwali Mela’ lights up Dimapur

DIMAPUR — The spirit of festivity and community participation came alive at the Lions Club Centre in Dimapur on Sunday with its annual ‘Diwali Mela’ fund-raiser, which turned out to be a vibrant and memorable celebration.

The mela witnessed an eventful day with raffle draws, food & high-tea, fun games for kids and exciting activities.

The Lions Club of Dimapur has been organising and supporting various noble causes, including the Lion Health Centre, drinking water outlets, tree plantation and maintenance, scholarship programs, and child immunisation, to name a few.

The club has also been organising this annual Diwali Mela for over two decades, and the tradition has grown tremendously since its inception.

The mela serves as the club's flagship fundraising event, with proceeds funding its year-round charity work and supporting local social and charitable projects, including eye care and community services, said Dr. Arihant Jain, PRO of the Lions Club of Dimapur.

Further, the event, a community engagement participated by children, young and old, is designed to bring the community together for a day of celebration and fun.
