Lions Club of Dimapur Elite organised an environmental awareness campaign including tree plantation and cloth bag distribution.
DIMAPUR — Lions Club of Dimapur Elite organised its "One district one activity" programme on Saturday to promote environmental conservation and create awareness about sustainable living through tree plantation and plastic-free practices.
According to a press release, the club distributed 10 Lions-branded flower pots with saplings, each carrying a message to inspire care for nature.
Three gynaecologists from Nikos Hospital, Dr. Sunil Sharma, Dr. Apeli Sukhalu, and Dr. Benjongsangba Lemtur, received potted saplings to present to their patients. A two-month-old baby was also presented with a sapling. Similarly, a newly married couple received a sapling.

The club also distributed 200 saplings in the New Market area, motivating citizens to plant trees and contribute towards building a healthier environment.
To further strengthen environmental awareness, members conducted a "Say no to plastic – use cloth bags" campaign, encouraging the public to reduce the use of single-use plastics and adopt eco-friendly alternatives. Lions Club-branded cloth bags were distributed during the campaign.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Club President Ritika Jain, with the support of Club Secretary Sakshi Binaykia and Project Chairperson Priti Jain.
