DIMAPUR — Power supply to Kohima, Tseminyu, and Wokha districts was disrupted on Tuesday afternoon following the collapse of a 132kV transmission tower at Longsa village in Wokha.

An update from the Executive Engineer (EE) of the Kohima Transmission Division, informed that the tower, part of the 132kV Wokha–Chiephobozou Transmission Line, collapsed due to dumping of earth filling on its structure. The line forms a critical link for evacuating power from the Doyang Hydro Electric Project (HEP) and is an essential element of the state power grid.

The department is making all efforts to restore the collapsed tower and resume normal power supply, the EE stated, urging the public to refrain from such activities that can damage transmission infrastructure.
