DIMAPUR — Lekie Mtei FC defeated Friends of Society in the finale of the Peren District Football League (PDFL) 3.0 to emerge as champions for the second time.
An update mentioned that the final match got off to a fast start as defending champions Lekie Mtei FC opened their account when a strong shot by Nsamlungbe was mishandled by the opponent custodian into his net in the 9th minute.
This enabled Lekie Mtei FC to control the game, yet they had to concede on the cusp of halftime when a strong low shot by Lungpetsing found the net in the 45+1 minute.
In the second half, Lekie Mtei FC secured their dominance when Puiheilung finished off a fumble in the opponent's box in the 57th minute, eventually leading the team to their second championship victory.
In the individual awards, Yirampheu Ringdi of Mbaupunggwa FC was named the Emerging Player. The Golden Boot was awarded to Chidiheu of Lekie Mtei FC, the Golden Glove to Widambo of Nchangram Lun FC, and the Golden Ball to Nsamlungbe of Lekie Mtei FC.
