DIMAPUR — The Ganglei Area Students' Union (GASU) has expressed concern over the alleged drone attack at Langkho village in Naga Self Administered Zone, Sagaing Region, Myanmar, on Friday night.
In a press release, the student body stated that it had received information that the incident took place at approximately 12:04 a.m. on Saturday at the residence of Col. Akham Konyak of NSCN-K (YA).
The incident reportedly injured a minor girl and daughter of Col. Alcham Konyak, besides destroying the residence and its belongings, it stated, adding that women and children were present while the head of the family was reportedly away at the time of the attack.

Maintaining that the basic principles of international law call for civilians to be protected during armed conflict, the union has demanded an impartial and independent investigation to establish the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
The GASU also appealed to all parties involved in the conflict to exercise restraint and take every possible step to protect civilians, particularly children and women. It went on to express concern for the affected family and wished the injured child a speedy recovery.
