DIMAPUR — ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha (BJKM) Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland Unit, organised an awareness programme on the ongoing ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyaan’ at the KVK Dimapur conference hall on Thursday.
The programme commenced with a welcome address and brief introduction by senior scientist-cum-head of KVK Dimapur, Dr. Phool Kumari, who highlighted the objectives of the campaign and the importance of sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
According to an update, President of the BJKM Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland Unit, Ketholezo Makritsu, attended the event as the special invitee.
Speaking on the occasion, Makritsu appreciated the efforts of KVK Dimapur in creating awareness among farmers and promoting eco-friendly agricultural practices.
The Chief Technical Officer (Plant Breeding) of KVK Dimapur, Dr. Bendangla Imsong, delivered a technical session on the balanced and judicious use of fertilisers for maintaining soil fertility and enhancing crop productivity.

A practical demonstration on the preparation of Jeevamrut, Ghan Jeevamrut, and Beejamrut was conducted by Assistant Chief Technical Officer of KVK Dimapur, E Lireni Kikon, encouraging farmers to adopt low-cost organic inputs for sustainable farming.
The programme witnessed the participation of farmers from the Green Hills Farmer Producer Company (FPC), representing nearly nine villages under the Chümoukedima district. Among the participants were service provider Masa Pongen and CEO Kreviso of the Green Hills FPC, Chümoukedima.
As part of the programme, agricultural inputs, including row markers, rabbit feed, and Assam lemon saplings, were distributed to the participating farmers. The farmers interacted with the resource persons and expressed interest in adopting the demonstrated technologies.
