KOHIMA — Advisor for Civil Administrative Works Division (CAWD) and Taxes Kudecho Khamo stated that fatherhood carries huge responsibility and that fathers are considered God’s deputies within the family, calling upon them to carefully execute their duties.
He was addressing the 4th general session of the Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches Fathers Association (CCRCFA) held at Local Ground, Chetheba town, on Sunday. The session was hosted by CRC Chetheba Town.
Khamo said that in a family, fathers play the role of a pastor in running the household. In this regard, he challenged fathers to be rooted in Christ, with faith as the foundation, the Bible as the cement, and a prayerful life as the cornerstone.
Pointing to the world around, he expressed concern that many may fail miserably. To withstand such situations, he called for commitment from all delegates to revive themselves, reconcile with God first, then with their wives, and subsequently with their children, in order to revive personal and family life.
Khamo said, “When we reconcile and revival happens, the good society we all aspire for—a good living church, a good society, and good governance—will follow.”
He stated that change in fatherhood should begin with oneself and not elsewhere, exhorting members not to point fingers at society, the church, or the government, as everyone is part of it, so that change and transformation may come.
The advisor also highlighted the importance of remaining focused on the kingdom of righteousness and living a righteous life, without compromising for materialistic gain.
Expressing concern, he said that churches are often too busy with fundraising and overly concerned with money, lacking spirituality, soul-saving, and evangelism. He cautioned against excessive focus on money and urged families to instead focus on a prayerful life, the Bible, obedience to God’s Word, soul-saving, and missions.
He also observed that many believers conveniently criticise clergy and church leaders and called upon all to do good for church leaders by being good church members and supporting pastors and leaders. At the same time, he implored clergy to consistently work towards soul-saving.
Citing Colossians 1:16, he said that God created everything for His glory and urged believers to commit themselves responsibly to the mission of the Gospel, contributing in every possible manner.
Furthermore, Khamo called upon members to be good fathers and revive themselves and their families, which would ultimately bring change to society at large.
Meanwhile, Rev. Zaseyi Veswuh, chairman of the Council of Chakhesang Christian Revival Church (CCCRC), delivered a sermon calling upon believers to be models of faith, expounding from Proverbs 20:7.
Veswuh urged members to accept and believe in God and obey His Word, adding that faith without action is dead.
He called upon fathers to lead their families by living out their faith—attending church, prioritising their spouses, blessing their children and families ordained by God, praying together, and leading the way toward salvation.
The speaker stressed honesty, uprightness, and integrity, stating that without these virtues one goes against the teachings of the Bible. He also urged fathers to love and care for their neighbours, whom he described as blessed.
He said a grateful life for blessings is a biblical teaching and added that being rooted in God’s teachings promises manifold blessings.
Explaining faith through the life of Noah, Veswuh said that Noah lived a life of faith and obedience with action, which saved himself and his family. He also called upon believers to be peace-loving and forgiving of one another’s wrongdoings.
Amid trials, Veswuh said God promises liberation and deliverance when one puts faith in Him and commits all plans to the Lord.
The service was led by Vetacho Nienu, president of the Chakhesang CRC Fathers Association, and began with an invocation prayer offered by Rev. Veshoseyi Rhakho, pastor of CRC Thenyizu.
Songs were presented by CRC Chetheba Town, Khezhakeno CRC Fathers Fellowship, and CRC Yoruba Fathers Fellowship. Scripture was read by Vetsuto Dozo, pastor of CCRC Jalukie Zangdi.
Later in the evening, the valedictory service was addressed by Rev. Senuto Ringa, general secretary of the Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC).
Meanwhile, a new team of Chakhesang CRC Fathers Association led by Joshua Koza was also installed by Rev. Zhowhuyi Nyekha, chairman of the Ordination Board.
