Officials of KVK Dimapur and other departments during an interface meeting on Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan-Rabi campaign on Friday.


DIMAPUR — Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur is set to launch the nationwide Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA)-Rabi campaign from October 3 to the 18th.


In this connection, an interface meeting on Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA)-Rabi campaign was held at ICAR-KVK Dimapur on Friday with high level state officials for smooth and effective conduct of the campaign in the state.


An update stated ICAR-KVK Dimapur would cover 84 villages under Chümukedima, Dimapur and Niuland districts by three teams comprising of resource persons from KVK Dimapur, ICAR Nagaland centre, ICAR-NRC Mithun, State Agriculture department from three districts, horticulture department, sericulture department, NSRLM, Fishery, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department, Soil and Water Conservation Department etc.

The meeting was initiated by Dr. Phool Kumari, senior scientist-cum-head of KVK Dimapur.


Speaking in the meeting, Dr. Girish Patil S, director of ICAR-NRC Mithun, has suggested focusing on the needs of the farmers of three districts and disseminate information required by the farmers, while Dr. Homeswar Kalita, joint director of ICAR Research complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, emphasised on the importance of cooperation from different departments to benefit farmers of the region from the campaign.


It stated that Vithwel Kweho, EAC of Medziphema, has assured support for success of the campaign, while Moainla Pongen, district agriculture officer of Chümoukedima, and Thepusa Nakhro, district agriculture officer of Niuland, gave suggestions on the route map and possible support during the campaign.


The meeting concluded with discussions on what to be done to reach the required information to the farmers.


A total of 20 officials from various departments attended the meeting.
