- DIMAPUR — The
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Phek,
under ICAR-National Research Centre (NRC) on Mithun, Medziphema, conducted a
Krishi Mela for National Innovations on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA)-adopted
farmers from Kikruma, Pfutseromi, K Basa, Phusachadu, and Thipuzu villages of
Phek district on April 11.
- According to an update, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, senior
scientist and head, KVK Phek, welcomed the participants and spoke on the
Mithun-based integrated farming system for enhancing food and nutritional
security.

- A presentation on climate-resilient agriculture was
delivered by Dr. Hannah K. Asangla, Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Agronomy.
Dr. Harini K.R., Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) Animal Science, presented on
the topic of climate-resilient livestock management. Dr. Ragulraj, Senior
Technical Officer (STO), ICAR NRC Mithun, Porba, spoke on the impact of climate
change on livestock.
- A lecture on soil and water conservation measures under
climate change was delivered by Dr. Venkatesh, SMS, Agril. Engg. The role of
light traps, pheromone traps, and sticky traps for insect pest management was
presented by Dr. Sharanappa CH, SMS, Plant Protection.
- After the technical session, an interactive session was
conducted, followed by the sharing of experiences by the participants. Seed
kits of kharif vegetable seeds were distributed to the participants.
