The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) directs its members to abstain from political campaigning ahead of the Koridang by-election in Mokokchung.

DIMAPUR — The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has issued an official directive barring members from poll campaigning in the forthcoming by-election to the 28 Koridang (ST) Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung district, scheduled for April 9, with the counting of votes slated for May 4.
Through the Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), the directive from Huvito Yepthomi, Kilonser of the Ministry of Kilo Affairs, was formally communicated to all national workers of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification), under the leadership of its President, Gen. (retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh.
The kilonser has unequivocally instructed all members and workers to abstain from participating in or conducting any form of political campaigning in the name or on behalf of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification). He clarified that the organisation maintains a position of non-involvement in the electoral processes of the state of Nagaland.

Nevertheless, he affirmed that individual members retain the personal liberty to exercise their democratic right to vote, should they wish to do so, strictly in their individual capacities.
Furthermore, a stern warning has been issued that any contravention of this directive, particularly any attempt to engage in political campaigning under the aegis or influence of the organisation, shall invite strict disciplinary action. Acts of harassment, coercion, or intimidation directed towards electoral candidates will likewise be treated with utmost severity in accordance with the established disciplinary framework of the organisation.
In addition, the authority has appealed to all respective village administrations to remain vigilant and to promptly report any such violations or incidents. The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) assured that it stands resolute in addressing and resolving such matters with responsibility.
