Konyak Students’ Union holds 4th Thanglong Yanlem Academic Awards

DIMAPUR — The Konyak Students' Union (KSU) organised its 4th Thanglong Yanlem Meritorious Award for Academic Excellence on Saturday in Mon.

According to an update from the KSU, the event was conducted to honour and recognise the academic achievements of students who have excelled in their respective board examinations.

On the occasion, a total of 11 students who secured top positions in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2025 were felicitated.

The students felicitated were Mayborn L Konyak, HSSLC (Science) 7th; Shikken Nyelei, HSLC 7th (A); Shaopong Konyak, HSLC 9th (C); Nokkai Delimth, HSLC 10th (B); K Chatwang Konyak, HSLC 11th (B); Honlam, HSLC 12th (C); Innyu M Konyak, HSLC 13th (C); Leeom Wangnao, HSLC 16th (D); Pelao H Konyak, HSLC 17th (H); Phopang H Konyak, HSLC 20th (C); and Shoyan L, HSLC 20th (D).

Speeches on the occasion were delivered by Temwang, president of KSU; Methpheih, assistant general secretary of KU; and Ponglem, president of KNSK, who encouraged the students to strive for excellence and remain committed to their goals in life.

T Ado Yanlem, Additional SP, Mon, and son of Thanglong Yanlem, congratulated all the award recipients and motivated them to keep working hard, emphasising that perseverance is the key to success.

Dr Chumei Yanlem, Zonal Project Officer, Element Nagaland Project, and daughter of Thanglong Yanlem, honoured the life of Yanlem, a pioneer in the field of education among the Konyak community and former president of the Konyak Students’ Union.
