KOHIMA — The four-day Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) 28th Inter-District and State Table Tennis Championship, held at the Indoor TT Stadium in Kohima, concluded on Friday.
A total of 146 players—including 29 female and 117 male participants—from 13 districts took part in the championship.
Gracing the closing ceremony, MLA C Manpon Konyak encouraged players to see table tennis not only as a means to maintain health but also as a potential career path.
Highlighting the negative impact of factionalism, the MLA said, “Most Nagas are sick of factionalism, which has become a hindrance to growth. I urge players to emulate good practices and work together so that the government can achieve its agenda for a better society.”
Vikheto Shohe, Vice President of Nagaland Table Tennis Association, appreciated the participation from the districts and expressed hopes that all 17 districts would take part in the next tournament.
