- “One year and three months since the historic announcement
of the Chief Minister, even the foundation is yet to be laid towards the
construction of one of the state’s oldest press clubs,” it stated.
- Kopelo Krome, KPC's founding member, former president, and
advisor, noted that while other states prioritise press clubs with proper
facilities, the KPC still lacks a dedicated space even after 24 years.
- Echoing the advisor's sentiments, Yhoshü noted that despite
being in the state capital, the KPC lacks a government-allotted building,
permanent or temporary, with essential facilities for journalists to gather,
hold press conferences, and conduct professional activities.

- She mentioned that the press club is currently functioning
out of a rented space at the APO Building.
- She highlighted that the KPC, founded 24 years ago by a
group of Kohima-based journalists to support the welfare of media
professionals, has grown significantly, now boasting over 60 members.
- Given the growing number of media professionals, she
emphasised the pressing need for a dedicated media centre in Kohima to serve
local and visiting journalists.
- Referring to the chief minister's assurance, she reiterated,
“We hopefully look forward to the state government's commitment in making a
permanent press club building in Kohima a reality.”
