District administrations of Kohima and Mon held preparatory meetings on July 16 for the 80th Independence Day.
DIMAPUR — District administrations of Kohima and Mon held preparatory coordination meetings on Thursday to review arrangements for the upcoming 80th Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
In Kohima, the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner B Henok Buchem at his office chamber.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was attended by officials from the district administration, Kohima Municipal Council, the Public Health Engineering Department (Urban), Urban Development, representatives of the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), and the Department of Information and Public Relations.
The participants discussed preparatory measures, including the installation of the flag post, maintenance of roads, and the facelift of Kohima town to ensure the district is well-prepared for the celebration. Concerned departments were assigned responsibilities and urged to complete the necessary works in a timely manner.

Meanwhile, in Mon, a coordination meeting was convened by Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak at the conference hall of his office, where work distribution for the event was carried out.
Wennyei requested all heads of departments to coordinate with one another for the smooth and successful conduct of the celebration.
The meeting in Mon also decided to conduct a mass social work on August 8 in Mon town.
