Kohima Law College holds fresher’s day programme

DIMAPUR — Kohima Law College (KLC) celebrated its fresher’s day on Friday with Justice Songkhupchung Serto as the chief guest and keynote speaker.

An update from the college stated that the chief guest greeted the newly admitted students and reminded them on the significance of the occasion as the beginning of their journey toward becoming lawyers and judges. He reflected on his personal journey in the legal field, underscoring the role of perseverance and determination in overcoming obstacles.

Drawing attention to the symbolism of the ‘Scales of Justice,’ the chief guest remarked that law by itself cannot constitute justice but it is the individuals who uphold and interpret the laws that form the true pillars of justice. He further urged the students to commit themselves to principles of fairness, equality and truth as they step into their academic and professional paths.

It stated that the fresher’s day event not only welcomed new students into the college but also reminded them of the immense responsibility they bear as future advocates and guardians of justice.
