JAC on Kohima-Jessami Road NH-29 sets an October 30 deadline for contractor to mobilise machinery

DIMAPUR — The Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Kohima-Jessami Road NH-29 has directed Ratna Infrastructure Projects Private Limited to mobilise all required machinery and materials to the project site on or before October 30.
The resolution was taken during a joint meeting of the JAC held at the Red Cross building in Kohima on Wednesday, attended by representatives from Chakhesang frontal organisations, Pochury, Sangtam, and Angami communities, as well as village representatives from Kezoma.
According to an update, the committee expressed resentment over the alleged continued negligence of Ratna Infrastructure Projects Private Limited and the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in addressing the grievances of the affected people.
The JAC stated that the directive was in accordance with a written assurance given by the project manager of the firm to the committee. It cautioned that should the company fail to fulfil the assurance, the JAC would be compelled to initiate appropriate action, and the firm would be held solely responsible for any consequences.
The meeting further resolved to write to the executive director of NHIDCL and the EPC contractor of Package-1 to immediately repair the damaged road stretch in accordance with the norms of the contract agreement.
