DIMAPUR — The Kohima District Taekwondo Association (KDTA) on Saturday held a felicitation programme at Zesta Taekwondo Academy, New Market, to honour Masters Theja Keretsü and Moon Thapa for their remarkable achievements in the global Taekwondo community.
The two masters recently completed the prestigious 3rd International Taekwondo Masters Qualifying Course and the 3rd Taekwondo Poom Dan Examiner Course, both conducted by Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. The certifications are regarded as the highest levels of technical mastery and official accreditation in the sport.
Former KDTA president, Keduoneiu Sachu, hailed the achievement as a historic milestone for Nagaland. “This success is not just theirs but belongs to the entire state. It will bring immense benefit to our Taekwondo ecosystem,” he said, encouraging the masters to share their knowledge and inspire the next generation of Naga athletes.

Both Keretsü and Thapa, aged 49, attributed their success to the values of patience, hard work, perseverance, and faith in God. They expressed gratitude to Pele Khezhie, president of the Nagaland Taekwondo Association, for his constant support in promoting the sport.
Looking ahead, the duo said they plan to use their new qualifications to strengthen Taekwondo in Nagaland by building international ties and creating opportunities for local students to access advanced training and global competitions.
