Wokha District Table Tennis Championship 2025 concluded with spirited matches, honoring winners and promoting grassroots sports talent.

WOKHA — The Wokha District Table Tennis Championship-cum-Inter-School Table Tennis Championship 2025, organised by the Wokha District Table Tennis Association (WDTTA), concluded on Saturday evening at the Youth Centre, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha. The two-day event kicked off on September 12.
Dr. Chumben Murry, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, graced the closing ceremony as special guest, while Dr. Jonsuthung Kithan, President of the Wokha District Badminton Association, attended as special invitee.
Dr. Murry lauded the players for their dedication and sportsmanship and commended WDTTA for successfully organising the tournament. He underlined the importance of sports in building discipline, perseverance and unity, while also creating opportunities for professional careers.

In his remarks, Dr. Kithan acknowledged the financial challenges faced by athletes and called for stronger collaboration among associations, parents and the community to nurture grassroots talent.
The championship saw enthusiastic participation from students and athletes across the district. In the finals, Haulim Sibo K Chang emerged champion in the Boys’ Singles, Nyanthung Ngullie clinched the Men’s Singles title, and Zachamo Ovung secured the Masters Singles crown.
In the doubles events, Denngel Menmei Phom and Bibenthung L Yanthan won the Boys’ Doubles title; Mhasivi Miachieo and Seyievilie Seyie triumphed in the Men’s Doubles; and Thechamo Kikon and Zachamo Ovung claimed the Masters Doubles title.
