The General Body also deliberated on the draft constitution prepared by the Constitution Drafting Committee and unanimously resolved to adopt and approve the Constitution of the Kohima District Cricket Association.
Addressing the gathering, outgoing KDCA president Menguvilie Sakhrie thanked office bearers, affiliated clubs, players and members for their support and contributions during the past three years.
Reflecting on the association's tenure since assuming office on June 2, 2023, he highlighted efforts made towards strengthening district cricket through administrative reforms, infrastructure development, increased cricketing activities and transparent governance.
Sakhrie said the association had made progress in reviving and strengthening cricket in the district during the tenure.
He, however, stressed the need for greater attention to grassroots cricket development, particularly in schools, colleges and age-group cricket, as well as the promotion of women's cricket. He urged the incoming team to build on the work undertaken during the previous tenure.
During the meeting, KDCA general secretary Keneilhouzo Sekhose presented the annual activity report for 2025–2026, while treasurer Vikuonyü Solo presented the treasurer's report and financial statement for the 2023–2026 tenure.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inducted team, president Viketho Kechü acknowledged the work carried out by the outgoing leadership and said the new office bearers had inherited a strong foundation.
He said the new team would work to further strengthen cricket in the district and would place special emphasis on grassroots cricket and women's cricket while continuing to uphold transparency, accountability and good governance.
The programme was attended by members of the Apex Council, sub-committee members, representatives of the Players' Association and officials of the four registered clubs affiliated with KDCA.
