  • DIMAPUR — Kohima College Kohima (KCK) held its 58th social parting programme on Thursday at the college courtyard on the theme “Epiphany,” reflecting a journey of self-discovery, resilience and transformation.

  • In his welcome address, Chutatu C Thupitor, general secretary of KCSC, has termed the event not just a farewell but a celebration of the college spirit, friendship, resilience and growth. He highlighted how the theme “Epiphany” mirrored the college experience for many—discovering identity, values and aspirations.

  • In his greetings, Kivinoka Sema, general secretary of ANCSU, urged the students to dedicate themselves to promoting unity, integrity and dignity in society.

  • The event included a musical performance by Kelhoungunyü Linyü, followed by speeches from both junior and outgoing students.

  • Rülevelü Shijoh, assistant general secretary of KCK, representing the outgoing batch, expressed gratitude for the transformative three-year journey. She thanked the faculty and staff for their unwavering support and also encouraged the juniors by encouraging them to “Believe in yourself. Success is not final, failure is not fatal.”

  • One of the highlights was unveiling of the annual college magazine (2024–2025) by Yaliichi D Feedhu, literary and magazine secretary, followed by ‘College Days,’ a cultural showcase that included performances by the Good Will Boys, Hostel Male Voice Group and the Stepping out Dance Crew.

  • The guest speaker, Tarachu Fithu, additional director of Urban Development, lauded the college for imparting quality education and producing bright minds contributing meaningfully to society. Sharing insights from his experiences, he emphasised the importance of skill-based education and the dignity of labour and encouraged the students to think beyond government jobs.

  • “Be an asset, not a liability to society,” he said and urged them to “make an impact wherever you go.”

  • He also urged students to embrace hard work, discipline and perseverance, saying, “He who excels in his work shall not stand before ordinary people, but before kings.” He also reminded the students stating that while life might not follow a linear path, those with the desire to succeed and the character to stay grounded will surely find their way.

  • During the programme, Abel Swu conducted a live art session, capturing the essence of the day on canvas.

  • The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Neiphrezonuo Khana.
