- DIMAPUR — The Chancellor of Nagaland
University (NU), Dr. Samudra Gupta Kashyap, made his maiden visit to Kohima
Science College (KSCJ), Jotsoma, on April 16. The visit coincided with the
launch of ‘KSCJ App’—the first-ever mobile application customised and developed
for a higher educational institute in Nagaland.
- An update from the college stated that the ‘KSCJ App,’
conceptualised and developed by alumnus and software engineer, Rishav Sethi,
was designed to streamline information dissemination, event management and
report generation for the college. With plans for future upgrades, the app
would integrate with the college website, monitor attendance and facilitate
examination-related activities, marking a significant leap towards digital transformation
in Nagaland’s academic institutions.
- In his address, Dr. Kashyap reflected on the historic ties
between the Nagas and Assamese communities, emphasising the vast potential of
the region’s indigenous youth. He urged the faculty and scholars to adapt the
evolving landscape of higher education, aligning with the National Education
Policy (NEP) 2020.

- The Chancellor also stressed the importance of exploring
regional job markets and contributing to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and
‘Viksit North-East.’
- Accompanying the Chancellor was his wife, Dr. Tapati Baruah
Kashyap, who shared valuable insights on literary pursuits and the future of
academic writing.
- The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of over 100
attendees including Dr. Rajendra Nath Babu, associate professor of Education at
Nagaland University, principal, vice principal, dean, controller of
examination, head of department, faculty members, research scholars and
students of KSCJ.
- It stated that the visit marked a significant step towards fostering
academic excellence and technological advancement in Nagaland’s higher
education sector.
