Kohima district administration streamlines permission for programmes and events, requiring NOCs from police, traffic police, KMC and local councils.
DIMAPUR — The district administration, Kohima, has streamlined the process for obtaining permission to conduct programmes and events in and around Kohima town.
In a notification, District Magistrate Kohima B Henok Buchem stated that the measure was necessitated by the increasing number of applications received from various organisations and institutions seeking permission to conduct programmes and events.
According to the notification, prior permission or permits will be issued only after submission of the required No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and other applicable documents.
The measure is aimed at ensuring effective crowd and traffic management, safeguarding public safety and minimising inconvenience to the general public.

Organisers are required to obtain an NOC from the police and, in cases involving vehicular movement, traffic regulation or public roads, an NOC from the traffic police.
An NOC from the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) will also be required for programmes proposed within the municipal area, wherever applicable.
In addition, organisers must obtain an NOC from the concerned village council, khel council or colony panchayat, depending on the location of the programme.
The notification further stated that permission or an NOC from any other concerned department, authority, institution, landowner or stakeholder may be required depending on the nature, location and specific requirements of the programme.
