Kizari Village Students’ Union lauds authorities for swift action in attempted rape case

DIMAPUR — The Kizari Village Students’ Union (KVSU) has lauded the district administration and police authorities of Phek for their prompt action in apprehending the accused involved in the recent attempted rape case.

According to a statement from the union, the swift, precise, and coordinated intervention by the authorities ensured that the perpetrator was quickly placed under lawful custody, reflecting their vigilance, institutional discipline, and sense of public duty

The union stated that the timely and resolute action of the authorities stood as a testament to the strength of legal institutions, the resilience of public administration, and the moral integrity of those responsible for maintaining order and justice. It added that the calm and determined response of the authorities during a time of fear and uncertainty demonstrated that no offender can escape the reach of the law when guided by integrity and resolve.

It further noted that their conduct restored public faith in governance and reaffirmed that the true measure of authority lies in service, accountability, and commitment to justice.

The KVSU also extended its appreciation to all civil society organisations (CSOs), village councils, and community stakeholders whose solidarity and timely intervention reinforced the pursuit of justice.

It expressed special gratitude to the Chakhesang Youth Front, the Phek Area Public Organisation, the Tizu Public Welfare Organisation, the Phek Area Mother’s Association, the Chakhesang Mother’s Association, the Sumi Youth Organisation, the Sumi Totimi Hoho, and the village councils from neighbouring areas for their unified efforts and moral support in upholding communal harmony and civic responsibility.

The union further urged citizens and communities to remain united and vigilant in condemning such acts that threaten the safety and dignity of individuals. It stated that this incident should serve as a reminder that defending justice is a collective moral responsibility shared by all. Through integrity, solidarity, and courage, the Union said, society can uphold truth, protect dignity, and ensure that the rule of law remains unshaken.
