DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has lauded the Phek Police and district administration for their tireless efforts in tracking down the prime suspect in the Kizari rape and murder attempt case, who had been evading arrest since the FIR was filed on September 25, 2025.

In a press release, the youth front requested the investigation officers to leave no stone unturned in preparing the chargesheet, in order to make sure that the accused is punished under the highest possible sentence allowed under law.

Additionally, the CYF urged the judiciary to deny bail to the accused until a swift trial and subsequent sentencing.

“The CYF wishes to stress that the victim is currently under protection due to severe sexual abuses she encountered, and the fact that her very life was also threatened by the alleged accused. To let the accused walk free at this juncture would mean posing a greater risk for the already traumatised victim,” the youth front stated.

The CYF warned that anyone assisting the accused in applying for bail during the ongoing investigation would face consequences. It stated that if anything happened to the victim as a result of bail, they would take their own course of action. Furthermore, the CYF clarified that it would not be responsible for any harm that might come to the accused while on bail.

“The CYF trusts that the judiciary would ensure a swift and timely delivery of justice to the victim, which would help rehabilitate the victim back to some normalcy without fear,” it added.
