KOHIMA — Under the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP), the central government has released fund amounting to INR 15.31 crore for Kiphire district in Nagaland, since its inception in 2018 till February 2025.
This was informed by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in his reply during the Lok Sabha session on Monday.
From Nagaland, Kiphire district was listed as the Aspirational District of the state. The minister reiterated that ADP, which was launched in 2018, aims at rapidly transforming the selected 112 underdeveloped districts across the country.

He updated that under the Aspirational Districts Programme, 49 key performance indicators have been selected across five themes and sectors, including health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development and basic infrastructure.
The performance of these districts is assessed based on the improvement of these key indicators, and districts are ranked periodically, he stated.
Additionally, under the ADP, districts use their award money to fund projects that bridge critical gaps and drive development, the minister added.
