Kiphire hosts district-level competitions under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to promote a drug-free society.

DIMAPUR — District-level competitions under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan were organised at Agape Higher Secondary School in Kiphire on Saturday. The drug-free campaign was organised by MY Bharat–Kiphire, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Akehda Amulung Kiphire.
The programme was attended by Commandant of 30 Assam Rifles, Colonel Rajiv Sharma, as the special guest, according to an update.
In his welcome address, Kishore Dulam highlighted the importance of building a drug-free society, stating that a drug-free environment is a priority. He expressed concern over the availability of drugs at low prices in interior areas, which he noted can also contribute to other social problems, including extortion.
Speaking as the special guest, Colonel Rajiv Sharma encouraged the youth to say no to drugs under all circumstances. He called upon everyone to support and help people struggling with addiction, noting that overcoming addiction requires a strong and determined mind. He encouraged individuals to challenge themselves and take positive action towards a drug-free life.

Major Shikha Satsangi (Retired) also addressed the gathering and conducted a career guidance session. She spoke about opportunities for women in the Armed Forces and explained the examination and training process. Sharing from her own experience in the military, she encouraged parents to support their daughters who wish to pursue a career in the Armed Forces.
The district-level competitions included reel-making and short film, painting, dance, music and rap, slam poetry, Nukkad Natak, slogan writing, and debate. The competitions provided young participants with a platform to express their creativity and spread the message of a drug-free society.
The event aimed to inspire young people to make positive choices, stand against drug abuse, and encourage others to overcome addiction.
