
Personnel of Nagaland Fire and Emergency Service, Kiphire,
undertaking cleanliness activities during the observation of National Fire
Service Week on Monday.
- DIMAPUR — Under
the directive of the Nagaland Fire and Emergency Service, the Fire Station
Kiphire is observing National Fire Service Week, which commenced on Monday and
will culminate on April 20, on the theme "Unite to ignite: a fire safe
India".
- According to an update, the initiative aims to heighten
awareness regarding fire safety and fire prevention. The week will pay tribute
to the courageous firefighters who sacrificed their lives to protect others and
property.
- The commemoration parade will also honour the 66
firefighters who perished in the 1944 explosion at Victoria Dock, Mumbai, and observe
a one-minute silent prayer in remembrance of the martyrs among the fire service
personnel in the country.
- The fire personnel in Kiphire will mark the week with a
cleanliness drive in the main town, a fire evacuation drill at ZPC College, and
a live demonstration at Delux Point on April 17.
