District Hospital Kiphire conducts its first fire evacuation drill to improve emergency preparedness.

DIMAPUR — To enhance the safety of patients and medical staff, the District Hospital Kiphire, in collaboration with the Fire Service and Home Guard and Civil Defence Kiphire, conducted its first convergence fire evacuation drill on Wednesday.
According to an update, the drill was designed to strengthen the contingency mechanisms for emergencies and improve the evacuation process for both patients and personnel.

It said that the successful conduct of the drill not only demonstrated the effectiveness of the hospital disaster management plan but also heightened the emergency preparedness and awareness of all staff members in handling critical situations.
The primary objective was to reinforce safety measures and protocols, fostering a more secure environment for diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, hospital staff received hands-on training in operating the fire hydrant, hose reel hose, and fire extinguisher.
