- MOKOKCHUNG — The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM)
on Monday raised serious concerns over reports of alleged kidnappings in and
around Dimapur and Kohima, urging Mokokchung residents to stay vigilant due to
the district’s proximity to Assam and ease of inter-district movement.
- In a press statement, AKM called for immediate public
awareness and preventive action to ensure safety, particularly for students.
- While the full details of the incidents remain unconfirmed,
AKM described the reports as “alarming” and urged parents, educational
institutions, youth organizations, and village authorities to remain on high
alert.

- “We strongly appeal to the people of Mokokchung to be
vigilant,” the statement read, urging residents to report suspicious
activities, unfamiliar persons, or vehicles to the nearest police station,

- AKM emphasised the need for collective action, stating,
“This is a precautionary call to action. Let’s stay alert. Stay safe.”
