Kezhaselu-o Pienyü retained 54th Angami Sports Association wrestling title as Northern Angami Sports Association topped standings.

KOHIMA — Kezhaselu-o Pienyü on Friday retained the champion title of the Angami Sports Association (ASA) at the 54th Senior and 1st Under-15 Wrestling Meet held at Khuochiezie, Kohima Local Ground.
The 27-year-old wrestler from Kohima village, representing the Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), remained unbeaten in the competition. The champion received a special award of a 10,000 sq ft plot of land in Chümoukedima, awarded by Tepuleho Pusa, along with a cash prize of INR 2.6 lakh.
Neithovilie Kuotsu, 28, of Phesama village, representing the Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), secured the second position and received INR 1.80 lakh.
Menuosetuo Yiese of Kohima village, representing NASA, finished third and received INR 1.40 lakh, while Thejavizo Merhieso of Nerhema village, another NASA wrestler, secured the fourth position and received INR 1 lakh.

Seyiejalie Gwirie of the Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) was adjudged best tactician and awarded INR 15,000.
In the Under-15 category, Menuokhriezo Metha (NASA) won the champion title and received INR 30,000, while Vimethazo Chale (NASA) finished second with INR 20,000. Vimezeto Zinyu (WAYO) secured third place and received INR 15,000, and Zayievi Kikhi (SASA) stood fourth with INR 10,000. Menuokhriezo Metha was also adjudged best tactician in the category and awarded INR 5,000.

In the group category, NASA emerged champion with 69.5 points and received INR 75,000. WAYO finished second with 60 points and received INR 45,000, while SASA and CYO secured third and fourth positions respectively with 47 points and 24.5 points, receiving INR 30,000 each.
MLA Kevipodi Sophie, chairman of DPDB Kohima, attended the event as special guest, while Kethosituo Sekhose, director of Youth Resources and Sports, attended the closing ceremony as guest of honour.
