The Angami Sports Association wrestling meet begins on February 20 at Khuochiezie, featuring senior and U-15 categories with top wrestlers competing.

KOHIMA — The stage is set for the 54th Senior and 1st Under-15 Wrestling Meet of the Angami Sports Association (ASA), scheduled to be conducted at Khuochiezie, Kohima Local Ground, on Friday, February 20.
The ground management has been allotted to the Angami Christian Revival Church Council (ACRCC).
Kevipodi Sophie, MLA and Chairman of DPDB Kohima, will be the special guest for the event, while Kethosituo Sekhose, Director of Youth Resources and Sports, Nagaland, will be the guest of honour.

A total of 48 wrestlers, with 12 each from the Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO), Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) and Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), will compete in the senior category. Meanwhile, four wrestlers from each range, making a total of 16, will vie for the championship in the Under-15 category.
Defending ASA Wrestling Champion and reigning NASA Champion Kezhaselu-o Pienyu; WAYO champion Kevizkhakho Suokhrie; SASA champion Atuo Tevo; and CYO champion Kelechuzo Zumu, besides other prominent wrestlers including Menuosetuo Yiese, Kezhavizo Thevo, Neithongulie Kuotsu and Seyiejalie Gwirie, will vie for the championship.
Kezhalelie Keretsü will be the chief referee. He will be assisted by other referees from the Nagaland Wrestling Referee Board.
Live streaming will not be permitted during the meet.
Tickets for the meet are priced as follows: Donors – INR 2,000; Special Gallery – INR 1,000; Chair (A) – INR 500; Chair (B) – INR 300. All tickets admit one.
